Aruba Networks, a provider of wireless LAN products, has reported total revenue of $83.1m for the first quarter of fiscal 2011, an increase of 43% compared to $58m of the same quarter prior year.
The company posted a gross profit of $58.2m for Q1 fiscal 2011, an increase of 49% as compared to $39m of the same period last year, while operating income for Q1 fiscal 2011 was $0.453m, compared to an operating loss of $24.4m of the same quarter previous year.
For the quarter ended October 31 2010, Aruba Networks reported a net profit of $2.1m, as compared to net loss of $25m in Q1 fiscal 2010.
Aruba president and CEO Dominic Orr said first quarter revenues increased 44% year-over-year and 8% sequentially, driven by strong demand from their existing customer base across all of their key verticals, as well as from new customers, over 800 of which they added in the first quarter alone.
"We were most encouraged by our enterprise business which showed particular strength in the quarter, while our core education, healthcare and government verticals continued to perform well," Orr said.
