AnySource Media launches new embedded platform for content providers

Internet Video Navigator enables TV viewers to watch any internet-based video like a traditional broadcast experience

AnySource Media has launched Internet Video Navigator 1.0, an embedded platform that is reported to aggregate and organize video, photos and music content from across the internet and allow consumers to find, view and listen to it on their HDTVs using the remote control.

AnySource Media said that Internet Video Navigator will drive value-added services for consumer electronic manufacturers, content owners, advertisers, and others with a strong internal recurring revenue business model driven by advertising and movie rental and purchase commissions.

The company also said that it is currently working with HDTV manufacturers to integrate Internet Video Navigator 1.0 client software directly into high-volume, mainstream HDTVs that will be available in retail stores later in 2009. TV viewers can interactively select sites and jump to videos, photos, home networks and music, or they can passively sit back and watch any internet-based video like a traditional broadcast experience, the company noted.

According to the company, the internet-enabled TV platform, which is designed to work with existing chips from silicon companies and consumer electronics manufacturers of HDTVs worldwide, supports internet video formats such as Adobe’s Flash, Microsoft’s WMV and MPEG-4/H.264. The software is designed with a system architecture that allows for future applications with Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, and other consumer electronics devices.

Bill Wagner, chief technology officer of AnySource Media, said: In addition to the embedded software, AnySource has a data center back-end to support easy TV navigation and e-commerce transactions, as well as content and data aggregation deals for consumer electronics devices. This allows the technology to do more than just provide internet content to consumer electronics, because it presents new revenue opportunities for manufacturers and content partners.
