Alcatel-Lucent has reported revenues of €4.86bn for the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 22.6% compared to €3.96bn for the same period last year. Revenues were up 19.3% sequentially.
The company posted a gross profit of €1.75bn, an increase of 21.1% to €1.45bn for the fourth quarter of 2010.
Operating income for the quarter was €321m, compared to operating income of €201m for the same period a year ago.
For the quarter ended 31 December 2010, the company reported net income of €340m, compared to a net income of €46m for the same period last year.
Geographically, North American revenues were €1.66bn for the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 45.4% compared to €1.14bn for the same period last year.
European revenues increased by 6.7% to €1.53bn from €1.43bn, and Asia pacific revenues increased 20.7% to €893m from €740m for the same period last year.
For the fiscal year 2010, the company’s total revenue increased by 5.5% to €15.99bn, gross profit increased to €5.57bn while net loss decreased to €334m from €524m.
Alcatel-Lucent CEO Ben Verwaayen said the company had overhauled its product portfolio, introduced their high leverage network and application enablement strategy, increased their customer relevance and improved their operational excellence, highlighted by the revenue growth and margin performance in the fourth quarter.
