Amdocs will replace several of AAPT’s legacy voice and data mediation systems and provide system integration services and ongoing product support and maintenance.
Mediation is the process of collecting usage data, processing the data into information which is meaningful for different business and operation support systems (for example, billing), then distributing this information to those systems.
AAPT is expected to deploy Amdocs Mediation to support different lines of business and enable the introduction of new services, new charging models and next generation networks such as internet protocol multimedia subsystem. By deploying Amdocs for error management, AAPT can increase efficiency in the analysis and correction of data errors, said Amdocs.
David Yuile, general manager of network and technology at AAPT, said: Following a detailed assessment of current and future business requirements, we’re very confident in selecting the Amdocs Mediation software for all of our enterprise mediation functionality. We look forward to partnering with Amdocs to deploy this technology across our business.
Earlier in October, AAPT has selected Alcatel-Lucent for network transformation project that is expected to expand and enhance its portfolio of premium business services offered to the Australian market.
