5 brand-boosting mobile marketing platforms

Learn how Huzzah Media, Oracle, Urban Airship, Apparmo and Nimble Tank can help you.

By Alexander Sword

In the world of mobile, it’s not easy to find the best way to interact with customers. Luckily there are several companies working to find the best way for you to deliver your marketing messages.

1. Huzzah Media

This all-in-one product is aimed at small businesses, providing a suite of solutions including an app-making platform called Huzzah Apps. It also offers Huzzah Loyal, which brings loyalty programmes onto mobile devices.

Also useful is Huzzah Mobile Ads, which allows the user to purchase advertisements on apps, searches and other mobile use-cases.

2. Urban Airship

Urban Airship uses push notifications to approach customers with targeted advertising. These notifications appear if an app is running in the background or inactive and can display a message, play a distinctive sound, or update a badge on the app icon.

The company manages the push messaging process, including customer and location targeting, automation and delivery, message composition, landing page creation. It also has analytics built in to hone customer initiatives.

3. Oracle Responsys

The cross-channel marketing solution from the US software giant covers all major channels, including email, display, social and web experiences. It also includes a mobile marketing solution with two main features: an SMS platform and a push platform.

The SMS feature provides response data to track the progress of campaigns, and also includes a basic SMS message designer. Responsys also allows you to customise the push messages based on consumer profiles and track and analyse interactions.

4. Apparmo

Apparmo provide a range of mobile marketing solutions, including more traditional services such as consultancy. The company also employs some innovative uses of technology to broadcast adverts in new ways.

This includes augmented reality (AR), which can use image recognition software and GPS to pin digital content to real life triggers. They also build branded AR apps and can integrate the technology into existing apps. They also use NFC and inaudible sonic technology.

5. Nimble Tank

Nimble Tank offers a range of mobile marketing services, including user insight and testing, augmenting teams, prototyping, product optimisation and service design. The key differentiator is the company’s proprietary model, called Agile Rapid Collaboration (ARC).

Customers include asos, for which Nimble Tank designed content and commerce apps, and minicabit, for which it produced an iOS and Android app. The company’s TOGAF-qualified enterprise architects audit existing systems, products and data feeds.
