Dassault and Cenit launch add-on product

Dassault Systemes, a provider of 3D and product lifecycle management systems, and its reseller Cenit, have launched Cenit Naval Architect, an add-on product of the Cenit Marine product family.

By CBR Staff Writer

Cenit Naval Architect integrates weight evolution management, hydrostatic and stability analysis in the Catia solutions for yachts and ships.

The new Cenit Naval Architect product and Dassault’s Catia provide a solution that streamlines the boat design and engineering process to enable the naval architecture design spiral, said Dassault Systemes.

According to Dassault Systemes, naval architects traditionally use disconnected solutions for weight definition, shape modeling, structure and layout drawings, and hydrostatic and stability calculations based on 2D offsets methodology. Combined with Catia, Cenit Naval Architect offers a platform that integrates the process from shapes design to stability and structure calculations for the development of audacious boat designs.

Using Maat Hydro+ volume-based computation engine, Cenit Naval Architect facilitates advanced hydrostatic and stability calculations with real-time simulations as well as automatic report generation in compliance with classification societies’ requirements.

Kurt Bengel, member of the board at Cenit, said: Our new software Naval Architect is an important addition to our wide range of software solutions and thus a significant component for an important industry. With the new software, ship builders can now also benefit from the advantages of an integrated solution.
