DANSK DATA FORMS UK SUBSIDIARY

By CBR Staff Writer

Dansk Data Elektronik A/S of Herlev, Denmark has set up a subsidiary in the UK to sell its 32-bit 68020 Unix-based Supermax multi-processor system. The new subsidiary is in West Byfleet, Surrey. Previously the Supermax had been sold in the UK by Crellon Microsystems, first when it was a Thorn EMI company, and latterly as a stand-alone business following the management buy out. Crellon is not renewing its distribution contract. DDE Great Britain Ltd is now looking for new distributors and other co-operation outlets for its powerful modular systems. Dansk Data has subsidiaries in Sweden and Belgium and is considering setting up in other countries. A multi-processor Unix pioneer early versions of the machine appeared as long ago as 1982 Dansk Data has over 1,100 systems installed.
