Daisho OA Sales, a vendor of office automation equipment, has begun shipping an input-output expansion unit, the IO286, for use with Seiko Epson Co’s NEC 9800-compatible laptop personal computers: the laptop’s full software compatibility with the 9801 series has won the machine significant sales, but the size of the expansion slots is different and until now it was only possible to add extra memory, and a modem board; with the expansion unit, the thing can now take up to three extended RAM board and standard PC9801 series expansion boards; the 1O286 is $665.
