Daini Denden International Corp is taking on Big Brother Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp in a price war, saying that it will better any call charge reductions that NTT introduces; Daini Denden and Japan’s other new common carriers cut many of their rates earlier last year, and NTT was hoping to introduce similar price reductions – the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications permitting – before the end of last month; chairman Kazuo Inamori also announced plans to launch CT2 cordless phone service.
