A subsidiary of South Korean group Daewoo Electronics Co is to acquire a 40% stake in Kazakhstan’s state-owned national telecommunications company, Kazaktelecom. Daewoo is said to have bid a package totaling $1.37bn worth of investments and will pay an additional $100m to the government to repay debts.
