Daewoo Group, Seoul, South Korea says it plans to invest $12bn over the next four years in enlarging its global network of technology development and research centers. Its Institute for Advanced Engineering said the group planned to set up 67 technology research centers, including 55 abroad, by 2000. It currently operates 53 such centers including 15 spread between the US, Japan, Britain and Germany.
