Daewoo Telecom Ltd, the South Korean company that is in process of acquiring its former US personal computer distributer, Leading Edge Products Inc, Wellesley, Massachusetts, is believed to be the latest Far Eastern manufacturer to commit to building low-cost Sparctstation-type personal computers and low-end workstations using the Sun Microsystems RISC chip. Daewoo is expected to reveal prototype Sparc workstations at Comdex/Fall in Las Vegas in November.
