Mannesmann AG’s Mannesmann Mobilfunk GmbH is already cutting prices on its D-2 digital cellular phone system: it is cutting the charge per minute for each call and extending the number of free minutes a month: the company said it was able to lower prices because the system attracted more customers than expected since going into operation three months ago, and it has also seen a reduction in the fees charged by Deutsche Bundespost Telekom for connections; the new prices do not go into effect till December 1.
