Cyrix Corp announced late Tuesday that it has settled its suit with Intel Corp over the use of the MMX trademark (CI No 3,121). The settlement will allow Cyrix continued use of the trademark with appropriate attribution to Intel. Under the agreement Cyrix will promote its processors as compatible with MMX technology, which is what Intel sought in the first place. The two parties have acknowledged that Intel has certain MMX rights and Cyrix will give them appropriate trademark attribution.
