CYGNIS BUYS GERMAN FIRM MULTIX

By CBR Staff Writer

Faced with demand from its customers for a source code browsing capability in its GNUPro product line, Sunnyvale, California- based cross-system development tools vendor Cygnus Solutions Inc has acquired multiX Software GmbH of Stuttgart. MultiX will plug the gap with its Source-Navigator graphical source code browsing and editing tool. Cygnus, which specializes in software development tools that provide Unix and Windows NT cross-system portability for 32and 64-bit microprocessors, aims to increase the level of integration between Source-Navigator and its own GNUPro CDK family. Source-Navigator is particularly useful in situations where code size exceeds 100,000 lines or the source code base is unfamiliar to the developer, Cygnus says. Terms of the deal were not given.
