Cygnet Systems Inc, Sunnyvale, California maker of of high capacity optical disk jukeboxes says its Model 5250 jukebox can take Sony Corp’s erasable 5.25 optical disk drives, with production shipments to OEM customers and systems integrators starting new: the 5250 has a worst case cartridge exchange time of less than 4 seconds, takes 25 cartridges and one of the erasable drives; its capacity is 16.25Gb and it is $16,480 in unit quantities without the drives or platters.
