San Jose-based Cygnet Systems Inc has added a new version of its Series 1800 Expandable Jukebox family that supports the ATG Gigadisc GD 6001 optical drive, providing a 300% increase in jukebox capacity, for a total approaching 1Tb of on-line optical storage, which it claims makes it the highest capacity jukebox available for 12 optical disks; the ATG GD 6001 stores 6.4Gb per drive, has average seek time of 90mS and formatted transfer rate of 1.5Mbytes per second; ships start January and OEM single quantity prices are $66,000 for the Model 1802, $84,000 for Model 1803.
