The five-year base contract, with an additional three five-year option periods, will allow Cyclades to more easily support government requests and provide operational and productivity advantages by deploying the AlterPath System of out-of-band infrastructure (OOBI) products to all government agencies.
These OOBI products include secure console servers, KVM over IP switches, intelligent power distribution units and an IPMI manager, which enable IT administrators to remotely access, diagnose and restore disconnected IT assets.
Also included in the software is the AlterPath Manager which provides change and configuration control for all OOBI components and delivers a management view of all IT assets connected to the OOBI.
Federal agencies face tremendous pressure to streamline IT management and increase operational efficiency, said Dave White, Cyclades vice president of sales, North America and Asia-Pacific. This General Services Administration (GSA) schedule contract allows federal IT managers to purchase and use our OOBI products to achieve the same benefits private sector businesses have enjoyed for several years.
