Thousands of PC gamers have been hit by malware posing as Grand Theft Auto V.

A legitimate-seeming torrent file claiming to be the hit game which smashed seven world records in its opening weekend infests gamers machines with malware.

Rockstar has yet to announce a PC version of the poplar GTA V, but with over 614,000 petitions signed on Change.org, industry sources have hinted at a PC port in early 2014.

The torrent file looks real, as it is appearing near the top of Google search results, and nearly 7000 users have downloaded it thus far.
It appears as a setup.exe file, but the first clue of it not being legitimate is the file size; 18.3GB compared to the 7.7GB of the Xbox 360 version.
