Infoblox has teamed up with network security company FireEye to update its firewall solution, helping organisations better protect themselves against Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs).
The Infoblox DNS Firewall-FireEye adapter is supposed to detect malicious behaviour using an automated approach that tests and observes files of a suspicious nature in a ‘safe environment’.
The solution, which combines the FireEye NX Series and the Infoblox DNS Firewall, comes with a subscription service and Domain Name System (DNS) that updates users on other threats and blocks communication to hackers.
The Infoblox integration also takes details on detected APTs from FireEye, feeding the data into the Infoblox DNS Firewall. This should help users detect APTs, reduce response time and speed up repairs.
Didi Dayton, VP of worldwide strategic alliances at FireEye, said: "Infoblox is expanding the concept of defence in depth by bringing FireEye’s APT containment capability to the DNS level.
