General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions releases new malware product

The product detects and removes malicious content.

By CBR Staff Writer

General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions has expanded the Fidelis XPS portfolio with the launch of Fidelis XPS Vector, which claims to detect, analyse and preven inbound malware and associated command and control traffic.

The new product is built on the Deep Session Inspection platform and is said to detect and remove malicious content from e-mails, instant messages, Microsoft Office files and PDFs sent through social networks as well as Internet protocols like HTTP, SMTP and FTP.

After detecting or blocking the malware, the product alerts the security practitioners with a analysis report, which includes information about the source of the malware, the decoding path, details about the protocol, encoding and compressions and execution forensic.

General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions product management VP, Tom Lyons, said the product provides customers with the ability to look at all network traffic, applications and content entering or exiting their networks, including web, e-mail, messaging and even customised traffic.

"We developed Fidelis XPS Vector to help customers target inbound malware, a tactic that is increasingly being used to attack enterprises," Lyons said.

According to the company, the Fidelis XPS Vector has an integrated management console, network sensor that detects inbound malware and requires no configuration or tuning, while the current Fidelis XPS customers can manage the product using the Fidelis XPS CommandPost management console.
