Apple’s 2015 Back to School deal is now offering qualifying students, parents of students and educators, a free pair of Beats Solo 2 on-ear headphones with the purchase of a new Mac.

Users will also get a chance to upgrade the headphones to wireless Beats Solo 2 by paying an additional $100.

Solo 2 headphones are available in glossy black, white, red, blue, gray and pink and costs $199.95, and Beats Solo 2 wireless headphones costs $299.95 in the market.

In order to make use of the offer, purchases must be made from the US Apple Online Store for Education Individuals and or from an Apple authorised campus store.

Eligible Macs includes iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Pro. However, the company said that refurbished Apple computers are not eligible for this promotion.

During its initial days, Apple offered free iPods to eligible customers but later on it traded the iPod with a $100 gift cards to its App Store, which reportedly got the company lukewarm response for the offer.
