CyberLink launches YouNote

The note taking app offers handwriting recognition and note sharing capabilities

By Kate Heslop

CyberLink, a provider of media creativity solutions, has released a new note taking application, YouNote.

The app, which is available for Windows 8 PCs and tablets, provides a platform for stylus/touch enabled devices to deliver a precise note-taking experience.

YouNote allows users to digitally take notes, sketch designs, and import and annotate photos and graphics. It also features a draw-to-shape feature that can correct sketched shapes, allowing users to create perfect shapes every time.

The application enables users to mash up any of the note taking elements which creates info-rich compositions. Users can then email the notes, saved as jpeg files, to friends and colleagues directly from the app.

Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink commented on the new application: "YouNote blurs the line between traditional note-taking with pen and paper, and digital notes crafted with stylus and on touch-enabled computing devices. The ultra-intuitive design means users transitioning from pen and paper will immediately feel at ease in the richer, more flexible digital format and the impressive results offer an addictive writing and drawing experience."
