CEO Scott Hammack told ComputerWire CyberGuard will use the technology, which has been used in CyberGuard’s firewall/VPN products for about six months, to help build next generation acceleration products.

He also confirmed the company is working on integrating SSL-based VPN features, often referred to as clientless VPNs into its offerings, and that the NetOctave acquisition will help. The company will also support NetOctave’s existing OEMs.

Separately this week, CyberGuard reported its fifth consecutive quarter of profit. The company said in its second fiscal quarter to December 31 its net income was $1.5m, compared to $110,000 a year earlier, on revenue up 43% at $8.2m.
