Security and electronic commerce firm, CyberGuard Corp, is considering either selling or spinning off its Galaxy search engine, after acquiring it in April last year. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida organization said it does not know the value of Galaxy, but said it could spin the search engine out with other financial partners, while continuing to contribute to its operations and maintain a stake in its profits. Galaxy was one of the first internet search engines and was incorporated into America Online’s home page. CyberGuard has not indicated when it will decide Galaxy’s fate.
