By CBR Staff Writer

CyberCash Inc, the Reston, Virginia-based secure payments company, has reported revenues of $5.1m for the three months ended September 30 1999, up from $4.5m for the same period last year. Net loss for the quarter came to $14.2m, compared with $7.9m for the corresponding period in 1998. As ever, the company emphasized growth as a result of this investment. The number of merchants using the company’s CashRegister service reached 16,000 during the quarter, more than twice the number this time last year. Transactions reached 4.9 million per month; in 1998 it was 3.1 million. CyberCash also acquired Tellan Software Inc over the quarter, and forged relationships with NetGravity, NHC and Commission Junction.
