Electronic payment company CyberCash Inc has appointed James Condon to the newly created position of chief operating officer. In addition to the new title, Condon will continue in his capacity as the company’s chief financial officer. It seems the appointment is a reward for a job well done. Since joining the Reston, Virginia company a year ago, Condon is credited with trimming operating expenses significantly while revenues have increased by about $2m, from just $51,000 in the fourth quarter 1996. He’s also helped the CyberCash in raising $30m in equity through private placements.
