Cable & Wireless Plc’s Cable & Wireless (Marine) Ltd, the world’s largest cableship and submarine maintenance company, is even bigger after buying a 40% stake in US telecommuications and marine operator company General Offshore Corp, Fort Lauderdale, Florida: Cables did not say how much it paid for the stake; the company carries out underwater cable installations and marine surveys for clients that include the US Federal government.
