As Computergram predicted yesterday, Oracle Corp is negotiating with Cable &Wireless Plc’s UK cable television and UK telephony arm, C&W Communications Plc, for a contract for its Network Computing Inc division (NCI). The terms of the deal are due to be announced in around two weeks. The rumored merger between Cable & Wireless Plc and Oracle Corp, reported yesterday seems even more unlikely, with sources close to Oracle confirming the companies were in negotiations, but not for a merger. NCI in California declined to comment.
