IBM Corp’s PS/2s rate below the industry average in terms of customer satisfaction according to a survey of 2,200 small and medium-sized business users conducted by Agoura Hill, California-based J D Power & Associates: announcing results of the survey, Power didn’t give the rankings of any company falling below the industry average, set at 100, but Dell Computer Corp, with its strong support, came out top of the tree with its strong customer support, scoring 125, and Apple Computer Inc was just behind at 124 for its ease of use; AST Research Inc scored 117, Hewlett-Packard Co, 114; Everex Systems Inc, 113; Compaq Computer Corp and CompuAdd Corp each scored 106 and the only other good guys were the three leading Japanese, Epson America Inc with 104, Toshiba Corp with 103 and NEC Corp with 101; apart from IBM, the biggest names that failed to get their heads above the parapet are probably Tandy Corp, AT&T Co, NCR Corp and Zenith Data Systems, although it is possible that the survey found no users of machines from some of those firms.
