Oracle’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications will be implemented to standardize business processes across five group companies, three manufacturing units and 26 distribution locations, according to The Economic Times. The implementation is expected to be complete by July 2007.

Cummins India will also use Oracle’s Supply Chain Planning, iSupplier Portal, Purchasing and Order Management applications in a bid to increase transparency and control while lowering costs.

An integrated supply chain not only streamlines operations, it also reduces waste. Cummins India can use the integrated supply chain to manage the sourcing of raw material better, said Subhomoy Sengupta, senior director of application sales at Oracle India.
