CULLINET SOFTWARE EXPANDS IN DEC, IBM PRODUCTS WITH PLANNING CONTROL ASSETS

Cullinet Software Inc, Westwood, Massachusetts has paid $4.3m cash for substantially all the assets of Planning Control International Inc, Newport Beach, California. The company specialises in project management, government reporting and financial tracking software. Products include Easytrack, Easybids and Performance Management System: Easytrack project management has more than 50 users, primarily in technology development, manufacturing and government contracting. Developed on the VAX, it has now been released for use with IBM mainframes and specially equipped XTs and ATs. Easybids is a proposal and pricing system which automates outlining of cost and schedule considerations when bidding on government work. Performance Management System runs with Easytrack to automate recording and compiling of information needed for government reporting. Cullinet hopes to sell the products to many of its goverment contracting users.
