ADR is not alone amongst the mainframe relational database vendors with new products in the pipeline for the Personal. Cullinet Software’s UK arm, based in Stanmore, Middlesex, chose Friday to announce a marketing and development agreement with Learmonth and Burchett Management Consultants to distribute Learmonth’s Auto-Mate Plus graphics-based design tool for the IBM XT, AT or compatibles. Auto-Mate Plus is the first in a family of computer-aided software engineering products that Cullinet plans to offer under the IDMS/Architect title, based around its relational database manager IDMS/R and its Application Development System generator. Cullinet is limited to selling Auto-Mate Plus only to its existing sites, of which there are 2,000 worldwide, and is offering users free upgrade from Release 2.5 to 2.7 in the spring and release 3.0 later in the year. After that, Cullinet will have Auto-Mate Plus to itself, with Learmonth taking a royalty for each copy sold. Single copies of Release 2.5 are UKP5,600, including the free upgrade option.
