CULLINET SHIPS RELEASE 10.2 OF ITS IDMS/R

By CBR Staff Writer

Cullinet Software Inc, Westwood, Massachusetts, has begun shipping Release 10.2 of its IDMS/R database management system, which has been benchmarked at 104 transactions per second, 11% better than the 10.0 release: the company claims that it maintains Cullinet’s target of two-to-one performance advantage over IBM’s DB2, while providing ANSI SQL support for on-line query; it runs under IBM’s MVS, DOS/VSE, and VM/CMS operating systems; Siemens’ BS2000 and Fujitsu’s MSP, and costs from $104,000 to $390,000.
