CULLINET SETS 80286, 386 VERSION OF IDMS/D

Backing up its professed intention to diversify into the minicomputer and microcomputer markets to lessen its dependence on large IBM mainframe users (CI No 615), Cullinet Software Inc, Westwood, Massachusetts is planning Adds Plus versions of the IDMS/D database management system for machines based on the Intel 80286 and 80386 microprocessors. Cullinet picked up IDMS/D, written for DEC VAXen under VMS, with its acquisition of Esvel Inc.
