Meantime Cullinet, whose figures will soon be lost in those of Computer Associates, reports that preliminary figures indicate that it will report a loss in the first quarter of fiscal 1990 to July 31, with turnover modestly below the $43.9m it did in the first quarter of fiscal 1989 – but if the acquisition by Computer Associates is completed before the deadline for filing quarterly results, the company will not issue a formal statement; Cullinet hopefully puts the slowing of sales down to some customers delaying major purchases until the acquisition is complete.
