CSK Corp, Japan’s biggest computer services company, will take 80% of a multimedia software joint venture with IBM Japan Ltd, 10%, Mitsubishi Corp, 10%, and Sega Enterprises Ltd, which will supply expertise, the Nippon Keizai Shimbun reported. The new company, Digital Media Labs, will develop three-dimensional and interactive software for movies and television commercials, as well as video games, and will research video-on-demand services and next-generation games machines. It will initially be capitalised at $1.2m, but that may rise if it is successful.
