Software house CSK Co and Toshiba Engineering have jointly developed a stock investment evaluation system that combines expert systems and neural network technology: an expert system is used to analyse economic trends and the corporate strategy of the company under study, while the neural network uses five indices such as psychological lines and volume ratios to determine the optimal times for buying and selling stocks; the expert system was developed by CSK using the Unix version of XPT II installed in-house, while the neural network is from Nestor Inc, Rhode Island.
