CSC has won a new managed information technology (IT) services contract from United Launch Alliance (ULA), a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing, to provide a consolidated service centre, and desktop and application services to its enterprise. The three-year agreement has an estimated value of $9m.

The agreement reportedly supports ULA’s mission of engineering, manufacturing and launching rockets for the US government and commercial organisations.

Under the terms of the new contract, CSC will provide all ULA users with tier one (customer service) and tier two (advanced technical support) services for ULA’s desktop hardware and software applications.

The company said that in addition, ULA will be provided with modern service centre tools and procedures to support users at its engineering, manufacturing and launch operations facilities located throughout the US. Services will be provided from CSC’s service centre in Dallas, Texas.

The relationship between CSC and ULA began in December 2006. CSC currently provides personnel support for ULA’s help desk, desktop, server, network and application organisations.

Joe Schechter, president of CSC’s Americas outsourcing group, said: CSC is pleased to provide ULA with these expanded services and expertise for this milestone effort. We look forward to leveraging CSC’s experience supporting IT organisations worldwide to help ULA achieve significant business results as they move forward to enhance IT and operational support throughout the enterprise.
