CSC’s Supply Chain Solutions program office for the Wholesale Logistics Modernization Program (WLMP) will lead the effort. The contract is valued at more than $38 million if all options are exercised during its nine-year lifetime.

CSC won the 10-year, $680 million Army Materiel Command WLMP contract in 1999 to reengineer and modernize the Army’s wholesale logistics business processes by applying best commercial business practices and associated technologies. The DFAS contract will make accounting services compatible with the other Army logistics functions already being modernized through WLMP.

We are pleased to continue our work in logistics support for the U.S. Army, said Jeff Plotnick, vice president of Supply Chain Solutions for CSC’s Federal Sector. We look forward to bringing the same high-value services and improved efficiency to DFAS that we brought to WLMP. This new award clearly demonstrates that the commercial best practices and experience in logistics support that our team has demonstrated with WLMP is a formula for success.

Under the agreement, Team CSC will act as an applications service provider, replacing aging hardware and software used to track funding for wholesale logistics, depot maintenance and munitions operations. Commodity Command Standard -Financial and Standard Industrial Funds Systems, including an automated internal operating budget and methods of standards, will be updated as part of the contract.
