CSC wins $27 million IT outsourcing contract

In a bid to standardize processes across its US and Latin American operations, Pan-American Life Insurance has signed a 7.5-year IT outsourcing contract with Computer Sciences Corporation, estimated to be worth $27 million.

By CBR Staff Writer

Under the agreement, the IT infrastructure service provider is expected to assume responsibility for the insurance company’s data center operations, including mainframe applications and midrange and server systems. CSC says it will also manage Pan-American’s network operations and desktops in the US, and across all of its Latin American sites.

Pat McGunagle, Pan-American executive vice president said, CSC went the extra mile to help us recover from the damage to our home office in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. We trust CSC’s software, but their responsiveness and knowledge of the insurance industry made it clear we could entrust them with our total infrastructure as well.
