According to the company’s 10-Q filing, it will cut 2,600 European jobs by the end of its fiscal year to March 2007, with another 50 in fiscal 2008. Reports claim that at least 172 of these will be in the Scandinavian region. In North America, 1,300 jobs will go in 2007, with another 500 in 2008. The remaining 550 job losses will be in Australia and Asia.

The reductions will be partially offset with headcount increases in its offshore service centers of approximately 1,600 and 400 in fiscal 2007 and 2008.

As at the end of June approximately 1,700 employee reductions had been made, of which about one-fifth were due to attrition.
