CSC has signed a seven-year information technology (IT) services outsourcing contract with Nobel Biocare, a medical devices group that also offers dental products. CSC said that it will assume responsibility for desktop and help desk services, as well as data centre operations, supporting 38 Nobel Biocare locations in 33 countries representing five continents.

CSC claimed that outsourcing these functions will result in cost savings for the company starting in the first year. The contract also supports Nobel Biocare’s strategy to increase profitability and ensure long-term growth.

Gerhard Fercho, president of CSC’s Central European region, said: Signing this agreement demonstrates the confidence industry leaders like Nobel Biocare have in our ability to provide flexible, cost-effective solutions that meet evolving business needs. We are pleased to add Nobel Biocare to our roster of Swiss clients and our growing list of healthcare companies around the globe.

Nobel Biocare provides dental implants, all-ceramic crowns, bridges and laminates, guided surgery planning, scanners and biomaterials.

Earlier, CSC has signed an IT outsourcing agreement with Xerox to provide mainframe processing and application support to Xerox’s North American business. The contract has a seven-year base period and is valued in excess of $100m.
