CSC Dimensions is not a new division, but a new offering of CSC services. While CSC has offered packaged applications and consulting services in the past, the company says that Dimensions will offer tailored and more integrated services for each vertical.

Jason Smith, a manager from CSC’s Global Transformation Solutions Group, said that companies are no longer content simply with the cost savings of offshoring and are looking for more transformative services.

Smith added that CSC would attempt to put all types of contracts under the Dimensions framework, from integrated services to more basic applications management jobs that can eventually be expanded to include more strategic business work.

As of now, there are no plans for Dimensions to be a springboard for new CSC service centers, according to Smith. He said that CSC will initially focus on revving up its ERP capabilities around SAP or Oracle projects. The company will begin by identifying its current centers with solid SAP capacity and boosting those sites to support CSC Dimensions.

Some CSC Dimensions work is already underway, including health care contracts with the NHS, financial services in Zurich, and student loan finance services, Smith said.
