CSC has launched FASTRack for Teamcenter software, a new product lifecycle management (PLM) business offering for engineering and manufacturing companies that design and build aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, consumer goods or high-technology products.
CSC said that the new hardware, services and support offering, which is optimised for Siemens PLM Software’s Teamcenter, addresses common infrastructure and supports challenges that companies can face with the integration of product data across their global design partners and suppliers.
According to CSC, the FASTRack for Teamcenter is a pre-configured PLM Appliance that deploys rapidly, facilitating the global extension of Teamcenter environments of 25 to 1,000 users, without complex installations or operational support of PLM hardware and operating environments.
The company claims that the FASTRack improves engineering productivity and global collaboration by working in a secure, high availability PLM environment; achieves cost reduction of 15-35%; and improves speed to market through the rapid deployment of a fully managed infrastructure environment.
The FASTRack offering includes scalable hardware configurations built on IBM server and NetApp storage equipment, with ongoing operational services, remote monitoring and customer support delivered by CSC’s global IT organisation, the company said.
