Net income for the three months to October 3 rose 16% on last year to $108.1 million, on revenue that was up 32% to $3.59 billion, but revenue attributable to federal services contracts was up 96% at $1.52 billion, and represented 42% of sales versus 28% last year.

The firm is in talks with the UK’s National Grid Transco Plc [NGG] for a $400 to $500 million contract.

Department of Defense contracts brought in 27% of revenue, $984 million, compared to 16% or $449 million a year ago. DynCorp, bought for $1 billion in March, helped with the federal business, particularly homeland security, IT/business process outsourcing, enterprise modernization and telecommunications.
