InfoSer specializes in providing information technology (IT) systems integration, implementation and maintenance services, application consulting and software products to the Italian banking market. Among the company’s clients are major Italian banks including SanPaolo-IMI, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Banca di Roma, Gruppo Banca Intesa, Deutsche Bank and Gruppo Unicredito. InfoSer had revenues of approximately $14 million USD (30.7 billion lire) for the year ended December 2000.

InfoSer’s principals, Adriano Baiguini, Simona Ceccherini, Paolo Gazzotti and Beniamino Martin, will remain with the company and will report to Daniele Carboni, president of CSC’s Italian operations. Founded in 1987, InfoSer has approximately 300 employees based primarily at its headquarters in Milan.

The acquisition of InfoSer complements CSC in two important ways, said Van B. Honeycutt, CSC’s chairman, president and CEO. It further enhances our growing presence in the Italian marketplace, and it adds to our strength in the global financial services marketplace.

The acquisition of InfoSer follows the acquisition of two other Italian IT groups. CSC acquired the Informatica Group of companies in March 1999 and the Progres Group of companies in May of the same year. Together with the acquisition of InfoSer, CSC now has more than 2,000 IT professionals in offices in Milan, Turin, Florence, Padua, Rome, Bologna and Ravenna.

We are pleased to welcome the employees of InfoSer to the CSC family, CSC’s Carboni said. The IT expertise they bring to CSC in the financial services industry will augment the industry capabilities we have in other areas such as telecommunications, insurance and the public sector.

InfoSer’s acquisition by CSC will provide the Italian firm with new opportunities, said Adriano Baiguini, InfoSer’s Managing Director.
