CSC has received a new $54m contract from National Institutes of Health (NIH) for providing support services to the Biomedical Translational Research Information System (BTRIS) and Clinical Research Information System (CRIS) programs.
CSC said that the contract, which was awarded during its fiscal 2011 second quarter, has a one-year base period and four one-year options.
Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide systems integration, project management and integrated data repository development for the NIH Clinical Centre.
CSC North American Public Sector vice president and chief medical officer Robert Wah said for around 10 years, the company has supported the NIH research community and the agency’s mission to seek and apply fundamental knowledge about nature and behavior of living systems.
"This work demonstrates the evolution that we see as the healthcare industry moves from paper records to electronic health records, then to interoperable networks and to this next stage of powerful analytics and population analysis," Wah said.
