Crypto-Logic Corp, a start up company so confident it had a foolproof encryption system, invited users to hack into the system, and if they succeeded within a year, they would become the proud owners of $1m. But the company has had to postpone its offer after the three computers used to create the contest web site unexpectedly scrambled data and had to be replaced, an error the company is describing as its screw-up.
