San Francisco’s Critical Path Inc has bought Xeti Inc, a developer of standards-based public key infrastructure (PKI) software for an undisclosed sum. Critical Path is a net-based messaging and collaboration OEM for corporations, web portals, web hosting companies and ISPs. The Xeti acquisition should help the company add PKI certification to its guaranteed delivery service. That’s significant, because enterprise demand for guaranteed delivery is on the rise. People need to be confident that mission-critical or confidential documents are delivered to the intended recipient and that they have not been altered in any way, explained Critical Path’s president and CEO Doug Hickey.
